new distribution platform for perishable products

El Corte Inglés S.A, growing in the sector of distribution and commercialization of food products in the Spanish market, decided in 2001 to implement its Distribution Platform in the Autonomous Community of Madrid, intended exclusively for perishable food products such as: fruits, vegetables, meat and fish.
To do this, El Corte Inglés hires INGESER the Project consisting of a new building within the Mercamadrid lower platform. In this work, INGESER provided an integral service: project, contracting competition, facultative direction and control of the works, legalizations and permits, start-up as well as processing and management of aid and subsidies.
Cross-docking is carried out on this platform, that is to say: reception of the merchandise, handling for the preparation of orders to the Centers and Stores owned by El Corte Inglés and an expedition to stores not exceeding 6 hours.
The Platform is designed and sized with sufficient capacity for the development of the industrial process in the Ground Floor of the Building, having 41 docks and the refrigeration and reception and dispatch units suitable for one of the product lines (fruits, vegetables, meat and fish).
